'A toothless Grin - 360'

'A toothless Grin' is a work spanning several media, that play with the expansion of film beyond the classical flat viewing into the immersive viewing experiences of a fulldome as well as a VR headset.

Storytelling in 360° space requires different film-making technique and technologies. This fulldome film takes the viewer into a void space punctuated by media consumption that references an uneasy feeling of emptiness in our everyday lives. A portrait of nature becoming increasingly digitally rendered mirrors a growing alienation from the natural world. The film explores how 'the digital' has been shaping our relation to nature, its representation and how it is experienced by humans. The XR technologies position the viewer at the heart of the narrative.
