FILM
Kristin Jakubek is a scenographer and media artist. Her artistic practice includes large-scale video art, sculpture and digital image-making. With a professional focus on scenography for art and fashion, she is skilled in creating spaces for scenes and narratives to unfold.
In her ambitious screen-based works she constructs sets and spaces to speak the narratives. The sculptural works communicate through the immediacy of the materials, while both address themes of alienation and severance from nature, bodily perception and pertinent technologies.
Born in Germany, raised in the US, graduating with honours she holds her BS ‘cum laude’ in Fashion Technology from Amsterdam Fashion Institute and an MFA ‘magna cum laude’ in Media Art and Design from Bauhaus-University Weimar.
Kristin excels working under pressure in fast paced environments, both independently and in a team. Most recently she has worked closely with internationally acclaimed set designers and artists, on exhibitions for institutions like Schinkel Pavillon and Hamburger Bahnhof Museum.
