'ATLAS OF DATABODIES'

Sculpture, 2021

The 'Biofluidator', is a sculptural device that generates various body images through light-water reflections. The device charts data about water percentages in the human body and outputs it to ml amounts made visible as light-reflections.

Data is collected through two methods; The scientifically established method called the Bioimpedance method and self-tracking performed by the individual user. By way of comparing the number-based method with the self-aware task of tracking water intake throughout the day, the fundamental authority of the technological measurement device is questioned and a more holistic approach to the human body is outlined.

The project makes clear that the methods surrounding body measurement, body data collection and the resulting body images are fundamentally constructed.
