'The distance between us. The splintering gap between my teeth. '

Performance, 2021

A poem is read slowly several times over the course of an hour. The voice is used as a poetic instrument of intonation and repetition. The sentences and passages read aloud function as alternating circuits, which speak of a duality between the advances of technological digitalisation opposite an idealisation of slow nature.

The spoken word is joined by a live sound performance in a hidden, directly adjacent room. Together they fill the acoustic space. The scenography of the room in which the act of reading is performed accentuates the dualism between the digital and the natural.
