'Twist VR '

2021

‘Twist VR’ takes a poem by the same name  as starting point for a virtual experience that investigates spoken-word poetry through sonic-data analysis and new visual media.

The project uses the visual programming language Pure Data to expand upon the curiosity around how pronunciation of spoken word, characterised by rhythm, pauses and intonation play with cognition through language. The digital scenography is formed by the lyrical concepts of the language

A blurring, twisting, twitching back and forth between narrative selves. The poem speaks about the body, about foldings and the simulacra of internal to external realities. These themes are explored though different image-making tools like photogrammetry, game engine physics, HDRI landscapes and 3D models.
